New from MicroAdvances:
Blind-Hole Inserts
Our old method of using bonded-in inserts offered a stress free approach for attaching components into plastic manifolds but they had a disadvantage of not allowing grooves and channels directly underneath the inserts on the second plastic layer. Also the fixed length of the inserts required us to use a fixed plastic thickness for the top layer.
With our new nickle-plated brass Blind-Hole inserts, all the advantages of the stress-free bonded-in inserts are now combined with the advantage of allowing grooves to be designed directly underneath inserts. Note, these are not pressed-in or coil type inserts.
Blind-Hole inserts allow far more compact and complex fluid circuit designs than ever before! Additionally, our Blind-Hole inserts actually have better torsion and pull strength over the bonded-in design. Moreover, fixed plastic layer thicknesses are no longer required as we can install Blind-Hole inserts from a minimum thickness to any larger thickness desired, thus allowing more design flexibility.
If your design does not require placing grooves and channels underneath the inserts of valves or other components, then Blind-Hole inserts offers yet another advantage of allowing a thinner top layer (limited by the length of the insert):
At present, our standard Blind-Hole inserts are listed below by internal thread size:
0-80 UNF
1-72 UNF
6-32 UNC
M1.6 x 0.35
M2 x 0.40
M2.5 x 0.45
M3 x 0.50
M4 x 0.70
M5 x 0.8
Note, we can also make custom Blind-Hole inserts for other threads.
